Shoulder Exercises Women Can Do

Women can do lots of toning exercises if they are new to exercise and this will make such a huge visible difference very quickly.

Even if you have been training with weights for some considerable time, there are always different exercises and ways of increasing and improving your muscle tone.

The Dumbbell Shoulder Press is one of the best shoulder exercises. Women can do this sitting on a chair or a gym bench, on an exercise ball or even standing up.

You will need 2 dumbbells, of a weight to suit your strength and level of experience.

  • Start by holding the dumbbells in each hand and holding your hands and arms out to the sides, with your hands above each elbow, and with your elbows just below shoulder height.
  • Raise your arms up overhead until they are straight but not locked at the elbow.
  • Hold for approximately 2 seconds and return to the start position.
  • Repeat for 3 sets of between 10-12 repetitions.
  • See image below to perfect your technique.
